1. About this policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Alture, LLC ("Alture", "we", "us" or "our") uses cookies and similar storage technologies on our website at www.alturellc.com (the "Website"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

There is no United States federal law that requires consent before cookies are placed on your device. We describe our use of storage here because you are entitled to know what a website puts in your browser, and because California law requires us to disclose how we respond to Do Not Track signals and whether third parties collect information about your activities across websites — which we address in section 4 and in section 13 of our Privacy Policy. Where the EU ePrivacy Directive and the GDPR apply to you, section 4 describes the storage we set; we do not represent that this description alone satisfies every requirement either regime imposes on this Website.

2. What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit it. Similar technologies, such as "localStorage", allow a website to store small amounts of information in your browser. These technologies are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and in some cases to measure usage or deliver advertising.

Cookies can be "first-party" (set by the website you are visiting) or "third-party" (set by another domain). They can be "session" cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser, or "persistent" cookies, which remain for a set period.

3. The cookies we use

Our Website uses only strictly necessary (essential) storage. Specifically, we store a cookie-consent preference in your browser to remember the choice you make about cookies, so that we do not ask you again on every visit. This is a first-party item set by our Website:

We do not currently use analytics, performance, advertising, marketing or social-media tracking cookies, and we do not use cookies to build profiles of visitors or to share information with advertising networks.

All three of our forms — the contact form on our Contact page, the roster request form on our For brands page, and the order form on our Order page — are handled by Netlify Forms. Submitting any one of them sends the information you provide to Netlify, which stores it on our behalf; this is described in our Privacy Policy.

Some parts of the Website are served by third parties, which is not the same thing as those parties setting a cookie. Our pages are delivered through Netlify and Cloudflare, and the typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Your browser requests those files from the providers directly, so each of them receives your IP address and browser details as part of serving them. Our one smooth-scrolling library is served from this Website rather than loaded from the public open-source code CDN unpkg.com, so unpkg receives nothing when you visit. We do not use any of them for analytics, advertising or tracking, and we set no cookie of our own through them.

4. Consent and strictly necessary cookies

We set one item of storage, and it is strictly necessary. It records the choice you make about cookies, so that we do not ask you again on every visit. We do not use analytics, performance, advertising, marketing or social-media tracking cookies, we do not build profiles of visitors, and we do not share information with advertising networks. There is nothing in the storage we set that a consent requirement would attach to.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Because we do not track you across websites at all, a DNT or GPC signal asks for behaviour we already have, and we therefore do not change our behaviour in response to one. We allow no third party to collect personal information about your online activities over time and across different websites through this Website.

Our banner is a notice about the one item of storage described above, not a request for consent to something that requires it: because we set nothing that a consent requirement attaches to, there is nothing for it to obtain consent for, and dismissing it — whether by accepting or declining — does not change the Website's functionality. If we introduce non-essential cookies in future, we will set them only after consent where consent is required, we will update this policy, and you will be able to withdraw consent at any time.

5. Managing cookies through your browser

You can control and delete cookies and similar storage through your browser settings. Most browsers let you view the cookies stored, delete them individually or all at once, and block cookies from being set. You can usually find these options in your browser's "Settings", "Preferences" or "Privacy" menu. The "help" function in your browser explains how to do this.

Please note that blocking or deleting the cookie-consent preference will mean we cannot remember your choice, so the consent banner may appear again on your next visit.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for legal, operational or regulatory reasons. The "Last updated" date indicates when it was last revised. If we begin using non-essential cookies, we will update this policy and our consent mechanism accordingly.
